Ashley and Andrew are wonderful characters with complex personalities.
Their
emotional bond and the trust that grows between them is touching
to see. The sex
scenes are gritty and realistically described. The scenes of Ashley's
humiliation and
degradation are not for the overly sensitive reader but they are
easily believable and
befitting to the storyline. Ms. Thompson has penned an edgy contemporary
tale that is not for the faint of heart but is very enjoyable. I
recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary storylines
that include BDSM. Turning Tricks is a keeper.

… Pain turning into love and realization of the ultimate desires
is the road the characters take in this inspiring and rewarding
book by Ms. Claire Thompson… Panting is inevitable as the
sex is burning and the emotional feeling of each scene is conveyed
in every word. I highly recommend this book.

an oppressed woman, her strength and the discovery of her love and
eventual submission…You’ll enjoy this story of mutual
discovery since it engages all of your emotions: anger, fear, hope,
love and desire.

The storyline of Turning Tricks is so very apropos in today’s
society. Many young people are lost to the streets and the lucky
few find their way, with a little help, to a better life. The life
that Ashley and Andrew embark on will teach her things about herself
she never knew. They will encounter a few rough spots along the
way, but…read the book and find out. Claire Thompson’s
books reside on my keeper shelf and I recommend them.

A great story with an interesting exploration into prostitution

rollercoaster that eventually leaves them satiated and complete.

If you love stories that feature tough and vulnerable heroines who
don’t want to be beaten down anymore, who want a well-deserved
chance at happiness, then Claire Thompson’s latest book is
the story for you. Ashley faces the same issues just about every
other woman faces: low self-esteem, disliking certain body parts,
and the certainty that one is not lovable. What makes Ashley shine,
like many women, is that she takes back her life. Her attraction
to Andrew is only a part of that though. He is a catalyst, but it
is her own emotional center that finally breaks through the violence
that is so much a part of her life. Readers will cheer as Ashley
finally explores life, socially, emotionally, physically and sexually.
A very strong D/s relationship runs throughout this story, and it
is fundamental to understanding the woman Ashley is becoming.

Ms. Thompson takes a very difficult topic and does a credible job
of turning it into a believable, thought provoking story. Key to
all of Ms. Thompson’s books is this psychological difference,
and the fine line which is drawn between controlling and loving.
Mature and consensual sex, can not, and should not, be compared
to abusive and
degrading power struggles. I found this difficult plot scenario
to be well done and interesting reading. The characters are three
dimensional and multifaceted. There are no
cardboard cut outs here. We learn what motivates each person. Deep
into the
whys and wherefores of the D/s lifestyle, Turning Tricks makes for
attention-grabbing, as well as hot reading.
